Karen Bayne lives in Simsbury with her husband and three boys. She holds her BA from Trinity College where she studied Classics and Women's Studies. She is a member of DONA Intl. and CAPPA, where she trained for her childbirth education certificate. As a doula, she has been nurturing mothers, their partners and new babies since 2003; she is now also offering independent childbirth education classes. Karen is a member of BirthNetwork National and has endorsed the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services' Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative. Jill Houle lives in Manchester with her three children and husband. She has been working as a professional birth doula since 2004 and is certified by DONA Intl. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science from the Univ. of New Hampshire and hasbeen providing nutritional, prenatal, postpartum and breastfeeding support to women in Connecticut since 1999. She is passionate about supporting women and their families as they strive for positive birth experiences, healthy attitudes towards family life and overall wellness. Mary Beth Lamlein lives in Bristol with her husband and three boys. She attended the Univ. of Hartford's Hartt School of Music, majoring in music education. As a nationally certified massage therapist, she specializes in prenatal massage, graduating from the Amherst School of Massage Therapy in Amherst, MA. She received her doula training from DONA and has enjoyed the wonderful experience of providing comfort and service to her families. She is the owner of Mind, Body and Spirit Massage in Bristol, CT. Sarah Thayer lives in Simsbury with her 2 children and husband Joshua. She has her BA in Sociology from Central CT State University and a Certificate in Massage from The Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Newington. Sarah is a DONA Intl. certified doula and has been serving women and families since 2003. She has been licensed in Connecticut as a massage therapist since 2004. Sarah is a member of BirthNetwork National and has endorsed the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services' Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative. |
